How do you plant 21 family members together for a week - who seek to be with each other day after day from June 8th to 15th 2011?

To start - this magnificent spot in God’s creation lures our youngest (15 months old) to one approaching Medicare status in a way that delights and inspires.

Turtle nesting, breathtaking vistas, soft sand, gentle waves, snorkeling sights below crystal clear water, awesome sunrises and sunsets, brain coral, lucky beans, uniquely colored birds, aloe plant for the over exposed skin - all these without passing a buck, to engage and enjoy can help.

Three levels allow for that hideaway spot so often needed as well as the gathering - common areas that provide healing and refreshment for the soul and spirit. Pool time, beach time, hammock time, roof time, meal time kept us upbeat + relief from the heat.

The joy of Sol y Luna kept us close to home and to each other. Little need to venture too far when you have so much beauty and activity around. Nature and site can only delight when habitated by loving, kind and spirited people -all present in the marvelous staff: Loida, Alba and Pedro breezed through the compound in such an inconspicuous way to tidy and say hello and good day. Norberto’s command of the English language and all operations lifted our comfort zone. And for the greatest nourishment - we greatly appreciate the healthy and most delicious meals created with love - because we know that food cannot taste that great without the love ingredient!

Hats off to you …. Ismael, Maria and Carlos for presenting a much anticipated event of our day for which you labored long and hard for us to savor and enjoy.

Mi familia y yo te faltamos mucho aqui en Canada, cada dia mi esposa y yo hablamos de los dias que nos quedamos a Villa Sol y Luna y de las comidas que usted y tu equipo prepararon. Mis disculpes para el video que es adjuntado a este correo, queria enviarlo antes, pero he estado muy ocupado con mi nueva esposa y con mi trabajo por el ciudad de Calgary.

Todavia, no hemos tenido la oportunidad de decir nuestras experiencias al Senor Filip, pero este fin de semana creo que podriamos intentar, al menos.

Espero que nos encontramos un otra dia, y pronto. Usted hizo un semana importante en un semana muy especial, y por este estamos muy agredecidos.

Thank you so very much for your hospitality during our short stay at the beautiful Villa Sol y Luna. What an amazing place - the home and grounds are brilliantly designed and meticulously maintained, feeling expansive and intimate at the same time. We truly felt ‘at home’ in this amazing place.

Chef Ismael and his capable crew impressed us at every meal - and this is no small task, given that the group is comprised of food & wine professionals! Pedro and the Villa staff worked tirelessly but almost invisibly - they were there to fulfill every request and meet every need, but were never obtrusive. We got so much more than we expected during our stay!

I take this group on a weekend trip to Mexico every year - we’ve usually stayed at all-inclusive resorts in Playa del Carmen or Puerto Vallarta. This trip was far more impressive and much more conducive to a group experience. We could not have been more pleased with our stay at your beautiful Villa and I am grateful for all that Norberto, Ismael and the rest of the staff did to make us feel so very welcome.

Hello Rafael,

I wanted to add our thanks for a wonderful holiday at your beautiful Casa
Sol Y Luna. With many of our family scattered far and wide, it was a
wonderful place to gather and celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday, in
addition to our daughter Cydney and son in law Eugene’s birthday on the
29th, the morning that the turtles hatched and made their difficult journey
to the sea.

The staff that you have were exceptional! What treasures you have found.
We constantly marveled at the creations presented to us  for each of our
meals by Ismael, and his associates Fernando and Maria. Loyda and Alba were
also wonderful and totally attentive to our needs and Pedro went out of his
way to get coconuts for the children to sample “real” coconut milk. Everyone
was so friendly - it was a delight to have them around. And then there was
Nicholaza- wonderfully accepting of all of the children who wanted to take
her home at the end of our holiday We are all animal lovers, so she was
wonderful to have around and she even enjoyed a couple of walks down the
beach with me and my husband in the early morning.

Again many thanks. I am so happy that we found your wonderful place where we
could bring our increasingly large family.  Getting together with our five
daughters, their spouses and ten grandchildren under 9 is not always easy
but Casa Sol Y Luna made it not only easy but carefree We will hope to
return one day!

Again many thanks and I think I can safely say  that I echo the sentiments
of all our family.

Disculpa que haya tardado tanto en enviarte este correo pero hasta el día de hoy estoy aterrizando a mis funciones normales, estuvimos un buen tiempo de vacaciones y estuvimos disfrutando de nuestras fotografías de toooodo el GRAN evento que significó el estar en tu Villa esos maravillosos 4 días.

Nuestra familia disfrutó cada instante su estancia, llegaron relajados y algunos cansados tratado de aprovechar todo los servicios que ofreces.

El día del evento contamos con el apoyo de tu staff para cualquier cosa que necesitáramos nos hicieron sentir en casa.

Te envío algunas fotos que tomamos el día de nuestra Boda, estuvo maravillosa y no tengo palabras para agradecer todo el apoyo que nos diste respecto a la devolución del $$, sin esto mi Boda no hubiera sido posible y estas fotos no existirían.

Esperamos estar nuevamente hospedados en tu maravillosa Villa para disfrutarla en grande !!

“En esta casa tan ‘espectacular’ estuvimos una semana con toda la familia viviendo momentos muy lindos y especiales.

Es una playa unica, es un Paraiso, el mar, la arena, las hamacas y todo como esta hecho la hacen unica. El servicio excelente, las chicas con una amabilidad y todos al servicio nuestro para que nuestra estadia fuera un sueño y asi lo fue.

Our Family of 32 people had a magical week full of love, fun, surf and sunshine - Every person in our group - from my 84 years old mom to the youngest 9 years old cousin enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Pedro, Loida & Alba were wonderful - kind, so helpful and great  to get to know. They mad our stay so relaxing. Ismael, Fernando & Maria made each night a culinary experience.

Their kindness and desire to please was amazing ! and of course Norberto helped to make everything work like a weel oiled machine.

We thank you for sharing this paradise with us and allowing our family the opportunity to be together.

“Excellent, friendly and warm staff. The superb accommodation made our family vacation a memory to last forever. Sol y Luna was perfect even for such a large group. ( 20 guests) Everyone had their own space and it was suitable for all ages. The chef service was incredible, it really was one of the highlights - as no-one was on duty…. only on vacation. Special thanks to the nanny/house keeper who made life even easier and our boys loved them.

Magnifico ! From sunrise to moonlight nights excellent service and incredible meals made our family reunion and celebration first class !

In honor of Pat + Rene Claytor’s 40th wedding anniversary, we packed 23 family members into the Villa Sol y Lun, and we couldn’t have picked a more wonderful and accommodating location. Loida and Alba were extremely sweet and patient, and they attended to our family as if we were their own. Pedro was tireless in all his endeavors, and our children were thrilled by his friendly demeanor and deft handling of the crocodiles. Norberto was an indispensible guide to the local attractions and was very helpful with all our questions.

Family reunions are always memorable for one reason or another, and for our family reunion we are so pleased to account the Villa Sol y Luna as a major component of our happy times in Cancun (for instance. our cousin Cameron Gumm proposed to his fiance Austin Mansfield this week during dinner an the Villa !).
